Pounding the Poconos Promo

On Saturday, November 3rd, the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Christian Sport Bike Association will be having it’s November Monthly Ride - The “Pounding the Poconos”. We will be meeting at the Starlight Diner in Fogelsville for breakfast around 8am and the ride plans to depart at 9:15am, so please be ready. Late comers might get left, so don't be late!

The “Pounding the Poconos“ will start with kickstands up @ 9:15am and will focus on the elevation changes, challenging curves and landscape of the Pocono Mountains. (for our friends up in the north - this ride ends up by you) Our lunch stop is Barley Creek Brewing Company in Tannersville. Come out and enjoy the roads with us. Remember all our riders are required to wear their protective gear and select their riding group (see below for details).

All bikes and beliefs are welcome, please let us know if you or any friends are coming (it's ok to forward them invites). Please ensure however that you and any friends both read and comply with our ride policy, www.pacsba.org/join/ride-policy. Also please come to the diner with a FULL TANK OF GAS. We will not be making additional stops during the rides - just the scheduled stops approximately every 80-100 miles. There are two gas stations on either side of route 100 near the diner, so please fuel up before the ride. Thanks!

Lastly, please if you decide to join us for the day, we ask that you select a pace and group in which you desire to ride (below on pinned post) to start the day out with - you can always change your group later - it’s just to help us assign you a ride leader and group to get the day started off right. Thanks again!

We hope you can make it... Lets Ride

CSBA Breaking Bread Report – Pounding the Poconos November 3rd, 2018

- The Breaking Bread Gang at Breakfast – Starlight Diner

We give thanks to God for His wisdom and His Blessings….

Rain, rain go away – unfortunately, not today it seems! That’s been the case for us the last few years for the first Saturday’s of the month, and this Saturday was no exception. The northeast corridor was bombarded with tornado winds and heavy rains starting earlier on Friday (11/2), continuing into this morning. What was left was a wet mess up through about mid-day. Because of weather and riding conditions, our day of riding was canceled – but that doesn’t mean a few of us don’t meet for breakfast!

Those that were available (Mark, Cory, Russ [Rusty Bucket], Mike and his daughter - Nicolette) came out, broke bread, exchanged stories and just enjoyed a nice breakfast together. I shared my message (rebuilding relationships) before we parted ways to enjoy the remainder of our Saturday. Any opportunity to enjoy our friends is time well spent for me.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to ride today. As I always do - I’d like to take this moment to thank everyone for your continued participation, involvement and giving attitudes on our rides and events. Whether you come out to ride or just break bread with us – we welcome your participation. These rides / events are designed for you, our riders, to enjoy the roads and have fellowship with us. We’re promoting a fellowship and an environment in which we want you to come and enjoy your love with others that share your passion of riding.

For more great pictures and information on today’s event, visit the facebook event page for our “Pounding the Poconos” Ride here: [ www.facebook.com/events/2204035233187201/] or visit us on our website at www.pacsba.org.

On behalf of the CSBA and our chapter, we give thanks to you for coming and enjoying the day with us. See you again soon and don’t hesitate to reach out to me (or any CSBA member) with any and all questions you may have about our rides or the CSBA Organization. Blessings to you all!

REBUILDING RELATIONSHIPS…

“Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy…”
HEBREWS 12:14 NIV

Is there a relationship you need to rebuild?

Too often people are filled with regret and guilt because they failed to reach out to someone with whom they were at odds – and then death intervenes and it’s too late. Don’t let this happen to you.

If a broken relationship comes to mind, and it’s on your heart to correct, know that the place to begin is within yourself. Are you convinced that rebuilding this relationship is something God wants you to do? Sometimes things end for a good reason – but if you feel a strong need to heal and mend the wound (especially if your actions created the hurt), now is the time to act – while you still can.

Let the person know that you care and that you want your relationship to be different than the past. Don’t use words alone; back up your words with action and integrity. We all received love in different ways: Most people appreciate physical touch and quality time, but we also enjoy acts of kindness, words of affirmation and small gifts as well. These five (5) key traits are how the human soul receives love and appreciation from others. Explore them and extend yourself to the person you hurt or seek healing with. Provide that sincere gesture and/or an invitation to lunch or dinner to show you mean what you say – a real desire to start the healing.

Most of all, seek God’s forgiveness for anything you did to harm the trust and the relationship. “…Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you…” ACTS 13:38. Then trust Him to help you set aside the past. Don’t argue about the past or who was at fault; that only reopens the hurt and old wounds. Instead, focus on your hopes for the future. We are taught, we must ask and seek for the things we want. Desire with action is required to activate a blessing. Change may take time, but with God’s help it can happen.

If you don’t know the Lord and want to learn more about him, please don’t hesitate to talk with me, or your friends here. The CSBA serves as your Godly guide and as a light to help guide you, not only for your riding, but for your spirit too. Don’t be afraid to ask – that is why we are here. Blessings!
