February 2nd 2019 Breaking Bread Luncheon @ Bar Louie’s – Part II.

Why mess with perfection? CSBA Breaking Bread Luncheons are the best way to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. We chose Bar Louie again because we just love the venue, plus they treat us wonderfully. We simply couldn’t ask for a better host and partner.

Several members and guests had other obligations to tend too on this day, but 10 of us were still able to manage to come out and enjoy each others company over a good meal. We even had John Dodson, Chaplain with the Motor Racing Outreach Association come up from Maryland to join us and converse about his racing outreach and memories from past CSBA events. His day didn’t end with us either, as he was heading to Lancaster after lunch to visit with one of the race teams. Allan Curtis dropped in for a while to take a break from his travel home from the Pocono’s and a member from the Hazleton Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association joined us again this month. During lunch, we discussed the bad streak of weather we endured during the 2018 season, track day events, and the anticipation of Spring arriving to kick off the riding season. After lunch we hung out a little longer before parting ways.

Join us next month (in March) as we hit the pavement with our community service annual outreach project. As always, we give thanks for our CSBA Friends and Family for coming out and enjoying an afternoon with us.

On behalf of the CSBA and our chapter, we give thanks to you for coming out and enjoying the day with us. We will see you again soon and don’t hesitate to reach out to any CSBA member with any and all questions you may have about our rides or the CSBA Organization. Blessings to you all!

The Power of Touch …
“Filled with the compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touch the man…”
MARK 1:41 NIV

As was the custom of the day, the man afflicted with leprosy had called out “Unclean! Unclean!” to warn people of his presence so they could avoid him. Who knows how long it had been since he had experienced a human touch – a warm embrace, an encouraging pat on the back, or a friendly handshake? Had it been months, or even years?

Jesus knew the man needed relief from this disease, but before Jesus dealt with his skin, he healed the man’s emotional pain. Jesus reached out and touched him. Physical touch is so very important – we take it for granted, but it’s the cornerstone of human communication and contact. Can you imagine how that leper felt when someone finally touched him? Jesus then freed him from the grips of the leprosy.

Jesus was/is always teaching us with parables and living examples that often helped the oppressed, the sick, and the poor – in this example, the lesson from the master is one of compassion. If we are to follow in his footsteps, we should exercise compassion in our walk in life as well.

One of the reasons and purposes behind our Breaking Bread luncheons, as well as our morning breakfast and lunch gatherings during our normal riding events is to create a body of fellowship among our riders. The activity of riding can be a very individual contributing task; and while we truly enjoy our 2-wheel therapy very much, we also enjoy our riders much more. Use this time today to reconnect by reaching out and touching someone; shake a hand, give a hug and make a new friend. That’s why we’re here – to create an environment for fellowship.

Whom will you touch today – literally as well as figuratively – In the name of Christ?

“..and the people all tried to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all…” LUKE 6:19 NIV – Remember that physical touch is a very powerful thing. God’s gift is a very special one. Open your heart and extend yourself in fellowship by connecting with someone new today. If you don’t know the Lord and want to learn more about him, please don’t hesitate to talk with your friends here. The CSBA serves as your Godly guide and as a light to help guide you, not only for your riding, but for your spirit too. Don’t be afraid to ask – that is why we are here. Blessings!

(Close in Prayer: Father God, we thank-you for this day and the love showed from you in all things. Please continue your hedge of protection for us and work in our lives to soften our hearts so we learn to love as you love us… In Jesus name, AMEN)
