On Saturday June 13th, the Central Pennsylvania chapter will meet up for breakfast at the Marysville All American Diner around 8 am. There will be a ride following with kick stands up around 9:15 am. We will be taking a long ride up to Galeton, PA; since we have the most amount of sunshine this time of year. You can check out our website for our ride policy.

The day began overcast, but with only a 20-30% chance of rain, I felt hopeful. The ride out to our starting point went well, I was only passed by one policeman and thankfully, not the other way around. ;) After fueling up, I pulled into the parking lot of the Marysville All American Diner and met up with Andyr who had pulled in a few minutes prior on his Ducati. We went in and had a great breakfast, catching up on each other's lives and talking about Moto GP races. Once we came outside we met Jim, a cool dude on an FZ-6. We chatted about work, life, and bikes. Once it was past 9:15 am we decided it was just us today, so we saddled up and headed north. Andyr and I took turns leading the ride as we slabbed north for an hour. The sun came out and it being so bright, I stopped and switched from my regular glasses to my prescription sunglasses. Don't you know, in under 15 minutes it started to drizzle on us. Murphy's Law, I guess. Another 15 minutes later, we stopped to put on rain gear and also realized, we missed our turn. I have never done that before,ha! :D We turned around, got back on the right road, and continued north. We did see a little more of the town of Bellefonte that we planned, but it was a nice place. Soon, the clouds slowed their drizzle, the road was dry and we were off on our ride. The road was mostly sweepers, but the surface was good and traffic was non existent. The few pickup trucks we got behind, we eventually got around them. The cool pics are below. We got gas in Galeton, 180 miles before lunch! We had lunch at a local pizza place, read the Word, and got on our way. The first road we turned on was nice, the next was small, the next was gravel, all 16 miles of it. Uggh! Who routed this anyway?? Oh yeah, that would be me. Well, we made the best of it and it was kind of fun when we went past this home back in the sticks and the whole family was out stacking firewood on the porch. Here comes my big sled, an FZ6 and a Ducati; the look on their faces was priceless! For those who have been of rides with me, you know it's always an adventure. We got back on the hard tarmac and rode back down to Lock Haven and ended the ride at a Sheetz station (where else?). :) It was only 74 miles for the 2nd half of the day, a small part of what needs to change with this ride. A work in progress indeed. Anyway, I am looking forward to next month's ride, it will be a good one. I hope you can make it! The sharing of the Word is below.

This month I shared the 2nd principle of biblical manhood: A real man accepts responsibility. Last month's was: A real man rejects passivity. With this 2nd principle we look to Jesus to see our example. He was given three responsibilities by God:
1) A will to obey
2) A work to do
3) A woman to love

These are also our responsibilities as well for us to follow. Jesus obeyed God's will coming down to Earth to establish God's Kingdom. He accomplished the work God sent Him to do by dying for our sins and raising from the dead. The "woman" He loved was the church, who later in Scriptures was called "the Bride of Christ". Unlike Adam from last month, we can see that God and Jesus weren't passive. In Psalm 40:7-8 we read- Then I said, “Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll. 8 I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”
In this we see the coming of Jesus being mentioned and how the author of Psalm 40 reflects a heart after God's will. One that is filled with devotion and love for following God. Also we Jesus speak in John 4:31-34 where it says- 31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.” 32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” 34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
Again, we see a heart after God's will, determined and desiring to God's work. Jesus had fully accepted responsibility for the work God had sent Him to do. This also applies to us, God has a will for your life, a work for you to do, and a woman for you to love. We must also love and build up the body of Christ, Jesus' spiritual bride, as well as whatever wife God gives us. The call is there, will you accept the responsibility for it? I hope to see you next month!
