It must be me! I used to be very active on this forum... Thought I had some "friends" in CSBA. But since my crash, Feb 01,14 I've not been able to ride....no one from CSBA checked up on me to see what's up. No, wait, R cajun called me once a few weeks back? I think I didn't get the call as I was recovering from surgery # 9. Sorry RC. Hey, it's not just CSBA, I rode with some great Patriots in the Patriot Guard, but now, nothing. The most bitter pill to swallow is my local (used to be) riding buddies. Nodda. Specially my "best friend" with whom I've ridden thousands of miles across most of the lower 48....several times. Well, i did crash his bike!

Even my two up trips with Twistit (my brother) stopped last year. To be fair, that was about the time I began stripping the FZ1 down for conversion...and his ZX11 has no bags or bars for me to hold on to, but still.

It has to be me. How did I get to be such a bore that on one thinks about me, calls etc?

Maybe it's the Parkinson's...but hey, it's not contagious

Thank God for my New Cannnan Society Brudders. They have supported me, even came out and cut/split wood.

Maybe I shouldn't worry about having no friends in the biker community any more...I thought I missed the fellowship, Nah...I just miss riding,.400,000 miles of riding. My private time with God, out on some road, praying, riding, talking to God. Don't mistake this as poor old skiff. God and I still talk , often. Just now, the pace is slower, less adrenaline, and it's really hard to kneed down in my Avalanche! Still, 400,000 miles over 45 years riding in and thru 48 states, rubbing paint, elbows, sharing my heart...nobody. What does that mean? Did I not make any difference or positively impact any one during that time?

God help me, a sinner, saved by grace....but Lord, I do miss riding.
Cheers

Skiff...... I'm really sorry you feel that way but I can definitely understand why you do. I guess I'm the most guilty of anyone for not getting in touch with you more. Here I am the chapter leader for the N.C. chapter and should have been in more contact with you more then anyone.
The only excuse I have is life, family, and work keeping me more busy then hours in a day. I keep hoping you get your FZ-1 conversion completed so you can get riding with us again.

You know sometimes folks don't contact you because they don't want to be a bother. Me, I have been keeping up with you on FB. I have been praying for you 5-6x a week since the crash. I guess since you live far away and I haven't met you personally I didn't feel right contacting you. Sorry If you took it badly, I mean no offense. May God continue to bless you in your recovery,

Thanks SM, much appreciated.. and again, this was as much about my reflection on my life as anything.

I understand your point...but don't let the "I never met you...so..." ever stop you from sharing a good word. You just never know how much it means.

If you/me ever want the CSBA to really have an impact in other biker's lives, we have to begin reaching out in ways that may not feel comfortable, but God will lead us, and He will give the increase.

Blessings

I had a rough couple of years in-between jobs, and that was a large part of why I didn't do much riding or going anywhere, but now that I'm working full-time again, it just seems like there's hardly any time to do anything. :(

That, and a the herd seems to be thinning. A lot fewer people on 2 wheels than there used to be...probably the state of the economy.
