Join us for our “Community Service Project Outreach” | Saturday, March 5th, 2016

Once a year our local chapter (www.pacsba.com) along with our friends & families perform a community service outreach effort by helping serve our central communities here in Pennsylvania. This takes the form of light duty, which could mean cleaning, painting, light construction, etc… The effort is always a group effort and is done to help generate fellowship both among our members and our fellow riders that enjoy us during the year. It’s our way of doing giveback for our communities in which we live.

For 2016, our outreach project will be to work with the folks at the Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. Bucks County ReStore Chalfont has something for everyone, young and old. Bring your family and friends, plus your wallet - this unique place we're working at is also a store front. They sell home building products and furnishings, so it's a very thrifty way to not only save a great deal of money, but all proceeds go to a great cause. Items available will be appliances and building materials from gutted houses and renovations. Our service will stem from moving items, lighter duty work, or helping customers. Again, they will be something for everyone.

The one catch, you must register to be cleared to work with them. The CSBA Organization has been cleared as a supporting non-profit organization, but each participant will also need to register as well. Fill out the 2016 Volunteer Information Sheet here: goo.gl/hTXGKx and reference "PACSBA" as your Group of Affiliation. Remember to show March 5th as your service date on the form. (Long Form here: www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=1625418124)

As always, the effort will only be the morning, with us breaking for lunch to enjoy the fruits of our labor. The details of this mission will be forth coming as soon as our assignment is finalized. It will be pinned to this event once all the details are clear.

Group Meet-up Location:
Habitat for Humanity of Buck County (ReSTORE)
31 Oak Avenue, Chalfont PA 18914
(215) 822-2708
www.habitatbucks.org

For lunch, we’ve undecided and taking suggestions for the Chalfont area.

If you have the morning free on March 5th, we encourage you to come out and hang with us as we all do something good for the community. Pass the word and invite out your friends and families. Last year we also had children (8yrs old and above) helping too – so don’t be afraid to bring your children – work is good for the soul.

Come out, break bread with us and support our mission of enjoying fellowship… See you there!

We give thanks in serving… which marks our 4th year in doing community outreach and service. This years community service outreach project took place at Habitat for Humanity of Buck County (ReSTORE), located at 31 Oak Avenue, Chalfont PA 18914 - www.habitatbucks.org216

This wonderful opportunity allowed us to join forces with Habitat for Humanity, an organization that is breaking the cycle of poverty by providing healthy, affordable housing to low income families. The mission statement of Habitat for Humanity is "Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope". Homes are built using volunteer labor and Habitat makes no profit on the sales. Habitat has helped more than 4 million people construct, rehabilitate or preserve more than 800,000 homes since its founding in 1976,making Habitat the largest not-for-profit builder in the world! The Restore thrift shop helps fund these construction projects, and is grateful for our help with donations intake, arranging the store, and serving customers.

Team CSBA was onsite to help in the ReStore facility. For more pictures and detail around this event, visit the actual event here: (www.facebook.com/events/976237012460564/) Big thanks go out to all our supporters and helpers for their efforts on this day. The organization greatly appreciated it. As for those that couldn’t make it - we look forward to seeing you at our next event - which is our first official ride of the season - the “Leap around Lancaster” (www.facebook.com/events/958477804235502/), hope to see you there!
